Scrap Factory

I finally bought scrap factory.  It is such a neat idea with so many cute different pieces.  Okay I have to be honest, I struggled a little bit with it my first time...user error.  It is actually very easy to install and use.  Somehow though I ended up with wrong pieces, I got 2 left sleeves, 2 left feet, and some square legs with round pants.  All of these are easy fixes (the shirt was white on the back so I actually found some ink to match and colored it instead of re-cutting, and the feet I just turned over).  The rest of the pieces came out just fine so I'm not sure what happened.  So the first set I decided to try was with the bedtime expansion pack!  There are so many possibilities with this set, I couldn't decide which way to go so I did a few!  They all turned out so cute!
This is probably my favorite layout that I did, I think it turned out so fun (and this was actually the guy that I struggled with)  My boys love pillow fights!  I am so glad that they are able to have fun fights and they don't get angry and turn into real fights.

Aren't these guys just the cutest!  These pajamas also come with this expansion pack, I'm telling you it is loaded!  I decided to leave the smiles off of them because I think it makes them look more tired.  I also love this hair because it looks messy and tired.

My boys love to run around in their underwear.  One of the boys we carpool with has actually nicknamed my son underwear man because he saw him outside in just his underwear.  The neighbor kids all laugh at my boys that they go around in underwear but they don't care.  (I don't let them go outside in their underwear anymore)  I decided I wanted my little guy to be in just underwear so I cut a little belly button for him and adjusted him to be that way.  I also made him with the shirt too because my boys love superman.  I haven't decided where I am going to use him yet so I left off the eyes and mouth for now.
Thanks for looking!

Brothers

My oldest 2 boys are only 14 months apart.  They are either worst enemies or best buddies, luckily most of the time they are best buds.  This file Big Brothers is perfect for them.  Unfortunately it is no longer in the store but they do have updated ones Best Buds http://www.scrappydew.com/products/best-buds/?aff=4 and Buddy Brother http://www.scrappydew.com/collections/family/products/buddy-brother/?aff=4
I made this page to display some artwork they made.  There is a picture from each of them that they drew of themselves playing together.  I love that they are best friends!

Exciting News and A day at the hospital layout

Scrappy Dew just redid their website, the look and flow of the site are so smooth and nice!  And they now have 99% of their files under $5!  That is huge because most of their files come with so many pieces!  There is a fabulous file called Medical Palz found here http://www.scrappydew.com/products/medical-palz/?aff=4  it comes with so many different people and accessories to complete any medical page!  Unfortunately I have a few different needs for this page...4 boys, what can you expect...stitches, surgery, sickness....This particular page was for when my little guy got admitted to the hospital for irregular blood count, and a lingering unexplainable high fever....things got pretty scary, but finally it got figured out and it was something rather common!  As for the page, I think it turned out great!  Doesn't that doctor look awesome!

Another Snow Day

I was looking at the layout I did and the pieces I used...(one of my favorite layouts) and decided those pieces would work perfectly for another page.  My little guy got to play in the snow for the first time while his brothers built a snowman.  So I took one of the boys out of the sled and put him in the snow.
These are the snow day files from Scrappy Dew.  The first time I made a Scrappy Dew paper piecing, I got confused because it seemed like there were a lot of extra pieces and I didn't know how to put them all together.  There are a lot of extra pieces, that's what makes them great.  It gives plenty of room to work with, to alter the positions or purposes of the piece or to add a lot of dimension!  There is a mounting piece included to help you know exactly how to place it if you want, it would also hold it all together well.  I usually turn my pieces a little so they don't line up exactly but I do like the versatility the files offer.

January Sketch Challenge

Most people do their pictures before said holiday but I guess I am behind the times.  So once everyone was done with Christmas scrapping that's when I decided to do mine.  This was the page I did for Little Scraps Of Heaven layout.  I used the trim the tree file and piggy back ride.  I tried to alter the piggy back ride and it kind of worked...that file just has the exact pieces for that exact pose.  It makes the pieces easy to put together but hard to use outside of its intended purpose.  It worked well enough and this was the end result!

Mommy Card

Okay so I decided I needed more layers on my projects.  I thought I would try that out with another card!  This way I can experiment mixing patterns a little easier.  I think it turned out pretty cute!  I used the Mother's Day File http://scrappydew.cartloom.com/shop/item/105054  This is for a friend who just found out she is pregnant.  She also has all boys!
