Chocolate

So, rumor has it that boys are easier than girls....I'm not too sure of that.  My boys are full of adrenaline, they are very destructive, and they still get moody!  I have several pictures of messes they have made.  At the earlier ages, it was kind of cute, wait let me hurry and take a picture first....now a days it's just old...but at least I can still look back on the earlier pictures and laugh.  I used the Chocolate factory file from Marjorie Ann Designs http://marjorieanndesigns.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=164_192&products_id=1456 to capture a moment of one of those times.  I walked in to see them covered in chocolate powder...they sure were having a good time throwing it around, sliding in it, and eating it!  I am sure they felt like they had found the golden ticket!  The disaster was huge, it was everywhere.  Even when I tried to wash it off of them, it just seemed to spread!  I found chocolate around the house for months!  The really bad part....it happened a second time a year or two later!  Once with slimfast powder, once with cocoa powder.  Oh I have stories to tell....these boys sure keep me hopping!
My original plan was to make a chocolate river, but it wasn't really looking like a river so I added some splashes to the page.  I kind of pulled the extra paper, tags, title, from all over...I should have wrote them down as I used them but I didn't...but if you would like to know, shoot me a message and I will go back and check for you.  Thanks for stopping by!

Card Drive

I came across a couple of card drives that I wanted to participate in, and Marjorie Ann has a bunch of really cute shaped cards I have been wanting to try.  I love these cards because they are adorable and easy to make...plus they even work when your brain is fried and you don't want to think, which unfortunately is happening more often than not lately!
The first card was for a girl I don't know, but I have a soft spot for handicap people and her story touched me.  I used the baby panda birthday http://marjorieanndesigns.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=243&products_id=1459  I put a really colorful birthday stamp inside and told her what a special girl she was!   I didn't hear how the card drive went but a lot of people signed up, so hopefully she got a bunch!
The second one, I found out kind of last minute that my neighbor was doing a card drive for her autistic son, so I thought the Party animal Lion would be perfect!  http://marjorieanndesigns.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=243&products_id=1417
On the inside I wrote you are King of the day!  I hope it is filled with all of your favorite treasures!  His mom posted a video of him getting all of the mail and he was so excited, said it was the best day ever!

Pack your Trunk

I was organizing some of my files and I came across this cute little elephant that I forgot I had.  Little Scraps of Heaven has another sketch challenge going on and I decided I would use this.  This sketch is for a card.  I am still getting used to cards and I seem to always size my pieces too big.  He looks really cute, but he takes up the whole card!  I also used a little brad that I have, because I have so many supplies but never know how to use them.  My tag had a little whole punched in it, so I thought it was the perfect opportunity!  The file is from Little Scraps of Heaven and it's called Pack your Trunk.  I am really happy with the way that it turned out!

My little Rascals

I saw this file and I was so anxious to get the file, I had a few other things I was working on and it was really a test of patience for me.  I have 4 boys and they are definitely rascals, so this was such a great file for me.  Besides just being boys they really do match the Little Rascals!  I have one that has the Alfalfa cowlick, (one has the superman swirl).  One with an orange color hair, crazy hair, and crazy funny personalities!  The Such a Rascal File can be found here http://marjorieanndesigns.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=204&products_id=1478
So, like I said, I was really excited to get to use this file...so as soon as I got it, I had to hurry and make a page.  I wanted to use all of the cute little characters for this page and it will work for a picture I have with a couple of the little neighbors!
The reason I got the file was for my own little rascals!  I decided to customize the characters to fit my boys...I did mean to switch one of the outfits and I thought I had, but then the sizes didn't match.  My boys have nicknamed my youngest mister bowtie...so I meant to switch to put him with the bowtie but it still works!  I used stamps from Peachy Keen and Scrappy Dew.  I look at these pieces and I really do see my boys!  Thanks for stopping by!

Alphabet babies

After I made the name of my son, my other boys wanted something done for them.  So I made a couple more.  I still have one left to make.
I was just going to show all the blocks I made without revealing all the names, but it looked cluttered and I had chosen a busy background, so I arranged them and took a picture on the counter, unfortunately I still couldn't get a great picture because the counter reflected the flash....but you can still see how cute the blocks are.
I used the sets G-L http://marjorieanndesigns.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=244&products_id=1470 and S-Z http://marjorieanndesigns.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=244&products_id=1472 you can get sets of blocks or get an individual letter.
I have been making names with these, but I can see so many uses for them.  They are very cute babies, there are a ton of accessories, and of course the letter blocks...so if you mix and match, the possibilities are endless!  I see a couple of cards, a title, and maybe a baby gift in the future!
My son Zeke is obsessed with military things right now...so I made his letters and diaper camouflage colored.  On Isaiah I decided to just use some of the accent pieces on the repeat letters.  I wanted to keep all of them similar so I kept to doing print then cut, I adjusted the sizes a little differently so they would fit closer together, and added a couple extra separate pieces for dimension.  If you have any questions feel free to ask.  Thanks for stopping by!

Feeding the ducks

My boys love feeding the ducks.  We have tried several different spots.  We had one we liked, but when we went back, there were no ducks.  We tried the pond near our house but there was a really mean goose that would chase you when you tried to feed the ducks.  There is another little pond at a park, but there are only a handful of ducks and they are very, very spoiled...people feeding them all day so they don't care anymore.  Finally, we found a fantastic place, the ducks are nice, and fun!  There are a ton of ducks and they follow you around, there are also some really fat fish that come to the edge of the pond, and a few crane and other types of birds.  This pond is a couple of towns over, but it is our favorite place to feed the ducks...we always run out of food too soon, it is so much fun!  I recently read a post about what food ducks really like to eat and it wasn't bread or crackers...we may have to try some of those next time.
Anyway needless to say, we have a lot of pictures of us feeding the ducks.  I have been looking for a really cute kit to use for this, but I couldn't find one.  I asked Kristi W.  if she could work her magic and make a set for me.  I said I needed some really cute ducks and some cute boys!  Well she made it!  Marge was quick to make it into a cutting file set as well...these ladies are awesome!  You can find the set here http://marjorieanndesigns.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=164_192&products_id=1475 The kit only had one boy in it though, so I also used the boy with the frog from the set boys will be boys which can be found here http://marjorieanndesigns.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=224&products_id=1399
I made this digital layout for my first page using this set.  Thanks for stopping by!

Baby blocks

My oldest boy got to make a poster of himself for his class, it turned out pretty awesome...well then my other son wanted to make a poster about him.  This poster includes everything from birth to the present time.  I decided to do his name with the Alphabet Baby blocks by Marjorie Ann Designs.  You can find them here: http://marjorieanndesigns.com/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=197&zenid=98dcf45c83ae6ecb6b7171ef2d6a7df9  They all come with a block and a baby, but I chose not to use the baby on all of them.  I decided to put some of the objects on the top or behind the blocks instead of next to them so that I could put the blocks closer together.  If I did it again I may even make the objects a little smaller so I could bump the letters right next to each other, but it still turned out cute!  Gabe is excited to start on his poster!

For some reason my digital software is making my pictures look darker than they do outside the software...it doesn't really do it justice...and I just realized I forgot to shade the little cheeks, so I will have to go back and do that.  Oh and I worked with the svg's within the sillhouette software to arrange the pieces where I wanted, and I changed the line color on most of them, and then I did print and cut.  I did the blocks, animals, baby, and hands separate.   Thanks for stopping by.
