Trains

My boys are officially done with school for the year.  My kindergartener graduated last week and passed all of his tests...(off the charts) this week and my oldest finished up yesterday.  We took a spontaneous picnic to the splash park to celebrate.  Their pants were so wet they could barely keep them up.  I let my baby dip his feet in the water as well, in return getting myself soaked as well!
Today's post is some pieces I made for my boys.  They were SO excited when we got to ride a real train!  We went to Poway park for their uncle's wedding, it is a beautiful fun little place to visit and yes, we rode the train!  The artwork from Kristi W When I grow up-Engineer was perfect for this occasion.  You can find the cut files at Marjorie Ann Designs here http://marjorieanndesigns.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=218&products_id=1391
I matched the clothes and train colors to what they really were.  I haven't decided yet if I like the little lines in the hair and mustache to highlight the grey...what do you think?  I love how the set turned out though.  Have a great weekend, thank for stopping by!

Kite Sketch Challenge

Although this is a very busy time for me and I am already neglecting certain responsibilities...I couldn't resist the current sketch on Little Scraps of Heaven Designs...and I recently got new files to play with so I did a layout anyway!  I love getting them done, just wish I had more time (don't we all).  So here is my take on the sketch.  I used the file Happy Winds Day (boy) Not too many details to share this time, I made my own title, and sliced the sun.  I decided to leave the border label on because I liked the stars so I trimmed the bottom instead (sorry the picture is a little crooked)
I need some darker inks to play with to highlight the dark papers.  Thanks for looking.

Park

I thought this was such a fun file.  It is called a Day at the Park and can be found on the Scrappy Dew website http://www.scrappydew.com/products/at-the-park?aff=4
This little playground matches the playground we got on clearance, and my boys Love to go to the park so I have plenty of pictures to add to this.  My boys all LOVE the swings.  One of them recently told me that treats and swinging are his life!  How funny!
This set comes with a lot of layers, and I can imagine how fantastic it would look if you use all of them, but I chose to only use a few.  I actually made the railing for the upstairs also, but then I couldn't figure out what the extra pieces were...until I looked at the picture and I knew right where they were supposed to go...I must have been tired!  I used the stamps from Peachy Keen Everyday faces again for the faces...the little guys can get pretty small if you shrink the playset.  I like the way that it all turned out!  I made a couple of sets so now I need to think of some fun ways to use them differently!  Thanks for looking!

Zoo

My brother-in-law lives in San Diego so whenever there is a family get together, we get to turn it into a vacation.  Our most recent trip there happened to be during my son's birthday, we had to make sure to do something fun to celebrate.  We decided to go to the San Diego Zoo Safari Park!  This was such a fun experience.  We got to ride the tram and go see the animals out in the open!  There was also a bird show where the birds landed right next to us, and some of us walked along the path with a lemur!
I made this page with the cute characters from the Marjorie Ann Designs File When I Grow Up -ZooKeeper  http://marjorieanndesigns.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=218&products_id=1392 This is a great file and I am sure I will be using it again.  It has a lot of pieces and the animals are so adorable (Original Artwork from Kristi W Designs)

I chose to do a digital layout for this page.  I made my own title using 3 different fonts and the fill feature.  The papers come from a zoo kit by SugarButt Artistic Design

Cookies

Isn't it amazing how you can give a child one tiny piece of something and they can spread it everywhere?!  I gave my son an M&M once and I couldn't believe how much he managed to turn blue...it was only one!  Ha ha they sure make for some cute pictures though.  I saw the set I Love Cookies from Marjorie Ann Designs http://marjorieanndesigns.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=164_192&products_id=1355  I thought it would be perfect to go with some pictures I have of a certain chocolate faced little cutie.  One oreo can go a long way when you smoosh it on your face!
I tried a couple of new things for this layout.  This was my first time doing print then cut.  It turned out pretty well...I did have to trim a few of the edges a little but I love that from this picture, you can't tell that I did that.  I also used pop dots for the first time, which unfortunately you also can't tell from the picture.  In addition to the print then cut, I printed a few of the svg pieces so I could pop them up and add some dimension.  The svg pieces were all lined with black where the jpeg was not so I need to look into that a little more...go back and check the pieced png file and see if it was also lined....I just trimmed the black off and it worked fine for this time.  I sure needed a time saver and I am happy with the result!

First Steps

Oh what an exciting time it is when your baby starts to learn all sorts of new things!  So far I have been able to catch all of my boys first steps on camera and/or video.  My littlest is already walking along furniture and I really hope I can be ready when he takes his first independent steps.
I used the file first steps to make this page.  It can be found here http://www.scrappydew.com/products/first-steps?aff=4  This file is just adorable, perfect for the pictures I have, and it was very easy to put together!  Thanks for looking!

Easter Bunny

This is my first post as a design team member for Marjorie Ann Designs.  This file is Breakfast with the Easter Bunny http://marjorieanndesigns.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=215&products_id=1279 and I think it is so adorable...it comes with a lot of different options.  We get to see the Easter Bunny but we don't have breakfast so I just altered the title a little bit and I added a couple of extra boys next to the chair...Although I made all of the kids smiling when in reality I think the baby was a bit scared ;-)  I hope you all have a fantastic weekend!  Thanks for stopping by.

Water Balloon Fight

This page is so fun!  It took me a lot longer than I would like to admit though...I made the little trampoline guys pretty small so I kept losing eyeballs!  I actually caved and bought a set of Peachy Keen facial stamps and they came just in time to save the day...I was so glad there were some small enough to fit the little heads.  I actually tried a few new things with this page;  the face stamps, an atg gun, the xyron sticker maker...I am going to have to get one of the xyron machines, I like what it does but it was difficult to try to get those pieces to go in straight through the little x at an angle, but I will be using all of these items again...as long as they hold which I don't know yet how well.
For this page I mixed two files...my boys love water balloon fights, but they usually end up having them on the trampoline, they throw some, they bounce some, they pop some, it's always a good time, with never enough water balloons!
thanks for looking!

wishflower

I made this page for my post but accidentally posted it early on the page when I meant to post it on my own facebook page.  So I will share it here since today would have been the day I shared it anyway!
So my style used to be that I worked on the scrapbook in chronological order....but not so much any more...now I see a file that I know I have a picture for and I work with that one.  This is good and bad...it keeps it from getting boring doing the same type of page over and over, and it keeps the pages fresh instead of them all starting to look the same...however with doing a page out of order, it makes it feel like I am not getting anything done.  (Of course won't I be pleased when I go to do the next scrapbook and I have half of the pages done already!)  I enjoy doing it this way because I get to work with awesome new designs and I am usually going off inspiration.  This was one of those times.  I saw this file and remembered a time I took some pictures of my boy playing in a little field of them, he was doing it without prompt, so I took the pictures candidly as well.
The file is here http://www.scrappydew.com/products/wishflower?aff=4

Card Challenge

I started off already.  Marjorie Ann Designs is going to start adding shaped cards to her store so right now there is a fun challenge going on at her facebook page.  You get this adorable file free (there is a link on the challenge post) and if you add your version to the comments you will be entered to win a free file of your choice....double win!  (Krazy for Kristi W Designs group is where she posts all of her freebies) Now if you know me, I am not a huge fan of cards...I'm not sure why I struggle with them...like I said maybe it's a time and effort things, I prefer to scrapbook because they last longer....However...I love this card...it is so simple and adorable as it is, doesn't take much thought or effort and it looks fabulous.  Now if all cards were like this I would probably be an avid card maker, giver, supporter....can't wait to see what else is coming.  You may be seeing a lot more cards from me!

Crazy and excited Me

I have been feeling a little stressed lately, just busy all the time...my solution, I joined another design team!  Ha ha but I am actually Very excited about it.  It is for Marjorie Ann Designs and I just love all the files.  She is very nice and letting me keep at a pace I can handle all while enjoying being part of a team and using super cute files.  I start right away so keep your eyes open for double the projects!  I am very excited and feel blessed to be chosen.

Howdy

We got the Toy Story Dress up set and my boys loved it.  They ended up being Buzz and Woody for Halloween.  For this project I made a photo page for a picture of my son in the Woody Costume.  He was so cute quoting all the lines in a little cowboy accent.  I used the Costume Parade Expansion Pack from Scrappy Dew.  http://www.scrappydew.com/collections/scrap-factory-expansion-packs/products/scrap-factory-costume-parade/?aff=4  I could have sworn I had a whole folder of cowboy papers and stickers, but I couldn't find it anywhere.  So I found a great frame and made my own title to go with it.  Thanks for looking!
