Learning to Crawl

I am way behind on my scrapbooking, my oldest is 7 and I am almost done with his first 3 months!  I started in order but I have been skipping around a bit so I don't get burned out on one genre.  This page I made for some of his crawling pictures.  Scrappy Dew has an awesome file of babies crawling, it's just called Baby (Boy) Crawling.  It can be found here http://www.scrappydew.com/collections/baby/products/baby-boy-crawling/?aff=4  For these pieces I also tried out the new faces from their new face stamps, I used an svg file but the stamps can be found here http://www.scrappydew.com/collections/dew-drops-stamps/products/scrappydew-facial-expressions-set-1-dew-drops/?aff=4 (well they are currently sold out, but will have some back in any time now)

I bought this paper from a yard sale so I don't know the name of it, but I am really loving it lately...maybe because it is blue and green, it just seems to work perfectly for my baby boy pages...you may see it a few more times.  I love these little babies, they are so cute...perfect crawling positions!  Between the faces and the bald baby head, it seemed a little bold for me, I matted it with a little bit of white ink but I think next time I will use a lighter shade of black...or keep it to kids faces instead of baby.  Of course, after looking at them for a couple of days, it doesn't stand out as much to me as much.  I really enjoy having a variety of eyes to choose from.
Thanks for looking!

Halloween, long ago

So my husband is amazed that I can say I need more scrapbook paper...when I have thousands of sheets....this layout is a prime example.  I had this idea in my head of how I wanted it to look but when I went to my stash, I realized I barely have any Halloween papers!  I did this layout 3 times before I got it to look good...though I still wish I could have done it how I planned.  I wish I had my digital inventory in my office....millions of papers and elements ;-)
For this layout I mixed a few files.  I used the Scrap Factory Royals 2 expansion pack for Jasmine, the couples expansion pack for the "farmer" and I got the hat from Cowboy Kids. I used a hairstyle to match what my hair looked like, but I think I should have used Jasmine's hair anyway?  What do you think?   http://www.scrappydew.com/collections/scrap-factory-expansion-packs/products/scrap-factory-royals-expansion-pack-2/?aff=4
I finally became a Scrappy Dew Vault member, and I. Love. It!  There are so many fantastic files in there...apparently most of the files I have used are in the vault....why did I wait so long?   Here is the link if you are interested. http://www.scrappydew.com/pages/scrappydew-vault-members/?aff=4
Okay so this layout is a picture of my husband and I way back when....before we were even dating.  We were at a Halloween dance and met up with each other, I was a genie, and he was a hill billie.  I saw both of these characters in the scrap factory and new I needed a page for this!  Thanks for looking!

Wild and Crazy Doll Contest

2 Guys and a Cricut Facebook page, teamed up with Scrappy Dew to use the Scrap Factory to make a random doll that would turn out wild and crazy.  I decided to go with the first doll it chose for me.  She wasn't super crazy, in fact I thought she was cute! I made the hair layers different colors then matched the outfit with it.  Looking back I think if I make it again I will make the dress a different color so it doesn't take away from the hair.

Card Sketch

I already mentioned how I am not great with cards...the sketch challenge for Little Scraps of Heaven this time was for a card...I started off wrong by making my piece too big then I kind of went downhill with my patterned paper.  I couldn't find the right combination, kept going back and forth if the solid should be on top but barely see the pattern or visa versa.  I already waited till the last day to do it so I just went with it. It still turned out fun!   I used Silly Frog, which was a very easy pattern to put together, I was thankful for that!

Anniversary Card

I made this card using the scrap factory program from Scrappy Dew with the couples expansion pack.   http://www.scrappydew.com/collections/scrap-factory-expansion-packs/products/scrap-factory-couples-expansion-pack/?aff=4 The couple turned out so cute!  I knew just what I wanted to do with them!  The card was from Monica's Creative Room http://monicascreativeroom.se/category/cutting-files/cards/gate-fold-cards/
It is a beautiful card.  I was having a hard time with my paper snagging.  I tried a couple of times but it still ended up with a couple of tiny snags in the top heart...there are also hearts on both of the front flaps.

The thing I learned with making this card is that I am starting to craft for the wrong reasons.  I had a comment that I make too many layouts...but layouts are what I do.  I am not a card person, I like to get cards, especially home made, but I don't send cards out to anyone.  So I started to try to make cards so I wasn't just doing layouts...and I do give cards occassionally, but I just find my heart isn't in it.  Sometimes cards are easier to do, but I just don't care enough to glam them up since most people throw them away after reading them...poo on me, I know.  So this card, and another layout I did I found that I was worrying about what the people online would think of it.  They won't like it, how can I change it, it's not fancy enough, it looks like it is from a child....my anxiety really gets going....when really, the person I am giving the card to will love it and not have a second thought about it.  The layout I did, I changed the whole thing 3 times before I finally settled on one that I still worried about if it was good enough.  I try to compete with all the amazingly talented people on the internet but I have to stop.  I may craft like a child but I am just getting started and I am improving every day...I will never be able to keep up with everyone else.  Most of them have way more experience than I do, as well as more time and more money to keep up with the trends!  I need to just scrap for me and let that be enough because really, I am the one who will look at it over and over.

Baby Mine

I am off to the doctor tomorrow for my little guy again.  I am not sure how much time I will have tomorrow so I figured I would upload my project here tonight and just link it over tomorrow!
I just love animal files...I always look at giraffes and think oh, I love giraffes!  Then I see an elephant and think, oh, I love elephants....oh what a cute monkey, or lion...ect....I have decided I am just a little obsessed with animals!  So I got the Safari Palz from Scrappy Dew.  It is a cool set because each animal comes with a forward facing and a side facing set.  This set is available in their vault files (a fantastic deal where you get access to a million files free for a one time $20 fee) You can read about the membership here http://www.scrappydew.com/pages/scrappydew-vault-members/?aff=4
If you don't want the Vault membership they have several other super cute animal files in their store.
Usually with my layouts I need to include a lot of photos because I am obsessed with them and I can't seem to narrow it down to one or two, so I use a bunch.  I made this page to focus on one photo, a little larger.  Precious little baby.  And I love the way it turned out.  I am still working to mix patterns and I think it is getting easier.  I love these little elephants.  I flipped the trunk on one so they could point toward each other.  Thanks for looking.

Birthday equals crafting time

I got a tip that my blog was too dark, so hopefully this helps!  On my end it all blended but I have seen it on other people's blogs where it loads slowly and you can't read anything.  One blog the background was very distracting...it made me dizzy every time I scrolled.  I didn't want to be rude but at the same time it kept me from wanting to view that blog anymore....would you say anything?

Here is a layout I did for a sketch challenge I did in March.  Little Scraps of Heaven usually does 2 challenges a month, and I used to keep up, but it seems I keep getting busier.  I was pleased with how this turned out though, I'm glad I found some time.  This is actually what I did on my birthday!  I am still trying to get used to using different patterned papers and adding other embellishments but I think I am getting the hang of the paper piecing.  This is little chick and jelly bean bunny.

Snuggle Time

Snuggle time is my favorite time!  My boys can get crazy at times, they have a lot of adrenaline but I just love it when we settle down for the night.  Snuggle time is my favorite but I also have many pictures of them sleeping, because I cannot resist!  I don't actually have a boy that is hooked to their blankey but they do all have their own special blanket they sleep with.  I loved this file the first time I saw it and I knew I had to use it!  The cute little blanket came together so easily.  I really like this file, it is just the cutest, versatile, easy, and I can see other uses for the little bugs as well.  You should check it out. You can find the file here http://www.scrappydew.com/products/snuggle-bug/?aff=4 and if you use this link, you can save 30%  go.referralcandy.com/share/BVG4HB9

Here is another little guy I made on his own...so adorable!
